Peannairí is hosting a calligraphy mini festival this summer as part of the DCCI August Craft Month

This will give us an opportunity to meet together and to reacquaint ourselves with the association after such a long gap. As you know we promised to deliver two workshops to all our members during the summer and we are going to discharge this obligation at the mini festival. You will get four!
The festival is also open to non-members and is sponsored by the Design and Crafts Council of Ireland, to whom we are very grateful for their generous support.

Saturday, 27th August, 9.30 to 6 PM
Venue: to be announced on our website soon, most likely in The Arts and Business Campus, Drumcondra. Details will be on the website as soon as our arrangements are complete.
Schedule
- Short Meeting to introduce the menu for the day and to inform non-members about the association.
- Main Morning Workshop: An introduction to the Uncial Script using the Pilot parallel pen which we will supply. No other equipment needed. Presenters: Zuzana Urbanikova, Kevin Honan
- The Computer as a tool for working out layouts for calligraphy. Presenter: Ceire Beahan
Break for Lunch (Café nearby) - Presentation/slide show: Female Scribes, Women Calligraphers. Presenter: Kevin Honan
- Floral Panel Illumination. Presenter: Noeleen Frain
- Closing meeting: introduction of an extensive Script Analysis project to extend throughout the coming year and further, to be published in in An Litir. Distribution of calligraphy books and magazines ( principally the CLAS journal, The Edge) to members. Sale of print copies of three issues of An Litir.
